Our Core Values
1-Step Ahead believes that the MOST important component of a client's success is the family's ability to be as active as possible in their loved one's treatment and development, while also being highly sensitive to the needs, culture, and other challenges their family may face each day. By developing a close, working relationship with the child's family, we strive to create a plan that will be effective and conducive for all parties. 1-Step Ahead utilizes teaching techniques based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). We make every effort to provide and utilize the most current, up-to- date, and empirically supported ABA methods. Some of the teaching techniques commonly used in our program include discrete-trial teaching (DTT), natural environment teaching (NET), errorless teaching, shaping, and differential reinforcement.
Mission and Vision
Our mission is to always be "1-Step Ahead" of what we need to do next to provide the most effective treatment to clients we serve. Our efforts are aimed at individually tailoring each intervention program to address a client’s specific needs. We teach with an emphasis on maximizing every learner’s independence and producing meaningful outcomes that generalize to a variety of different people and settings within the client's everyday life. We partner with parents and educators in the design and implementation of each client's treatment plan. Our focus on a "whole picture" approach ensures that clients have maximum opportunities to practice and refine emerging skills.
